General Information - The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) was founded in 1998. Consisting of musicians from 26 countries, the MPO presents a wide variety of music programs. It performs around 100 concerts every season at its home, Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, Kuala Lampur. Applications are now being accepted for the 5^th Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific. This unique program preparing advanced students and young professionals for a career in music performance and in obtaining a position in a professional orchestra, will take place June 16 - 29, 2008, in the picturesque, seaside town of Powell River, British Columbia – a Cultural Capital ofCanada.

Students perform in the Symphony Orchestra of the Pacific under the baton of Music Director Arthur Arnold (The Netherlands) and study with renowned players from some of the world’s finest orchestras.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

Advanced students and young professionals who desire to improve their skills in performance and in the orchestra audition process.
