The Southwest Michigan Symphony will be on the Radio TONIGHT at 6:00 pm ET!

Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchesra’s performance of the March 20 program “American Creativity” will be broadcast on WAUS, 90.7 FM ON SUNDAY, APRIL 11, 2010 AT 6PM (Michigan time).

If you are out of broadcast range of WAUS, you can also listen online at www.waus.org.

This was a fun concert that I participated in a few weeks ago. I was able to play the timbale part (as well as many other percussion instruments) in Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. I havn’t heard the recording yet, however I know the timbales will be heard…they are a prominent part of the percussion breaks. The program is as follows:

Postcard Ticheli
Adagio for Strings Barber
Clarinet Concerto Copland
Symphonic Dances from West Side Story Bernstein

You can find the program notes at Southwest Michigan’s Website.
