Career Opportunities

Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel for the positions of:
Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Instructor
at the Academy for the Performing Arts of The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT)

Successful candidates will be required to work in the following areas:

1. Teaching at various levels: Diploma and Degree, within the Academy for the Performing Arts and in the Academy’s Outreach Programme.
2. Performing with the University’s musical ensembles and the National Philharmonic Orchestra to be established.
3. Audience building. An important part of the Academy’s work will be the creation of a regular audience. Staff at the Academy will perform in small ensembles, visiting schools and performing in local venues throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Appropriate theoretical qualifications and excellent performing experience in the playing of any of the following instruments:
Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Violin, Viola, Timpani, Percussion
• Relevant teaching experience in any of the abovementioned instruments will be an asset.
• Knowledge of contemporary training methods, concepts, principles and practices.

Selection will be by interview. Candidates may be invited to an audition.
